PURPOSE:To make it possible to correct the position of the cutting edge of a tool to an accurate position, by providing two sensors adapted to make into contact with the cutting edge of the tool to be measured, in the respective directions of the two-dimensional coordinate axes so that comparing computation is made to the distances of positions of the sensors from the original point. CONSTITUTION:A first resistor 44a temporarily registers thereon a position with respect to the X- and Y-coordinate axes, at which position the cutting edge of a tool makes into contact with a touch sensor, and is subjected to the designation of a write mode from a signal circuit section 2 so that if it has the recognition, the registered coordinate value is delivered to a computing section 41. A second register 44b registers thereon a original point data which has been obtained with the use of a reference tool, and which may be written thereon through a keyboard 43, and the registered value is delivered to the computing section 41 each time as necessary. The computing section 41 computes the offset value of each tool in accordance with the input values from two resistors, and stores the computed values in a memory section 42. The offset value stored in the memory section 42 is read out as necessary to be used for correcting the position of the tool.
