PURPOSE:To easily manufacture a long-sized lead covered metallic tube having an optional covered layer thickness by inserting a metallic tube having a higher tensile strength than that of lead tubes into a lead tube and spreading the lead tube over the outside periphery of the metallic tube. CONSTITUTION:A copper tube 1 having a higher tensile strength than that of a lead tube 2 is inserted into the lead tube 2. The lead tube 2 is spread over the outside periphery of the copper tube 1 by a die 3. For example, lead covered copper tubes having a covering layer thickness of about 1-10mm and a length of >=5.5m is easily obtained as necessary.
