Process for the preparation of vat dyes from brominated dibenzanthrone and 1-aminoanthraquinone

A process is described for the preparation of vat dyes which dye cellulose material in a grey or black shade with good fastness properties, which comprises the bromination of dibenzanthrone and the reaction of the brominated product with 1-aminoanthraquinone in one process step.
