<p>A tooth profile in an intermeshing mechanism comprising: a tooth profile (21) of a row of teeth (3), to which is given a deflectional deformation by a working body (2), consisting of an arc-shaped tooth tip (22) and lines (23) tangential to said arc, and a tooth profile of two rows of teeth (4, 5), having a different pitch each other, in an intermeshing engagement with the row of teeth (3) of said tooth profile (21) being formed with a curve (251) based on an envelope curve for the locus of motion of said arc-shaped tooth tip (22) or a line (252) made up approximately of an arc and straight lines. In an intermeshing mechanism having the tooth profile as described above, a tooth profile of a row of teeth subject to a deflectional deformation and a tooth profile of two rows of teeth come into an intermeshing engagement in a wide zone, thus resulting in an achievement of backlash of low angles. Therefore, the surface pressure on contact faces is reduced, causing not only an elongation of the tooth life but also power transmission of high efficiency, with an intermeshing rate increased and tortional stiffness improved. By bringing a row of teeth subject to a deflectional deformation into an intermeshing engagement with two rows of teeth concurrently, wherein one of two rows of teeth is fixed and the other one is movable, said intermeshing is made to develop; therefore, the tooth profile in the intermeshing mechanism is applied to an intermeshing mechanism in which displacement is given to said rows of teeth.</p> |
