PLUNGER FOR TRANSFER MOLDING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To avoid the occurrence of seizing by providing a specified resin on a part or whole outer circumference contacted with a pot. CONSTITUTION:A resin for molding 5 in a heated pot 7 is injected into a mold by means of a plunger. General tool steel is used for the material of both the plunger main 1 body and the support 3 for an attached resin. The attached resin 2 has excellent mold release characteristics, cold resistance and heat resistance and is inert to the resin for molding 5. The resin to be durable to the molding pressure is used as a material contacted with the side of a pot 7 except the bottom. The size of the resin is just the same size as that of the inner diameter of the pot. The attached resin 2 has a thermal expansion coefficient larger than that of the pot 7, which is made of a metal, and therefore tightly contacts the inner surface of the pot to be well air-tight. No seizing occurs as the hardness of the resin is lower than that of the pot and the resin has good mold release characteristics.
