PURPOSE:To aim at automating the clamp of a workpiece, by storing workpiece clamping tools as tools of one kinds in a tool stocker, and by utilizing a means for supplying a tool to a machining spindle. CONSTITUTION:In the case of that different kinds of workpieces 45a are machined, a clamp jig 46 is used. This clamp jig 46 is taken out from a workpiece stocker device by means of an exchanger robot. Meanwhile, a clamp tool 101 is taken out from a tool stocker by means of a tool exchanger and is clamped in a socket section of a machining spindle. Further, the workpiece 45a is set on a vice 135, and the machining spindle is lowered and rotated to clamp the workpiece 45a. Thereafter, a new tool is attached to the machining spindle to machine the clamped workpiece 45a. With this method, it is possible to automatically and easily cope with the alternation of workpieces.
