The heating boiler consists of a water-bearing housing (16) with a thermal insulation casing (17) inside a surrounding housing (2) made of thin sheet metal, there being arranged in the water-bearing housing (16) a chamber housing (4), which guides the flame and the heating or smoke gases, with at least one burner-side closure and with a smoke gas offtake connection piece (18). In order, even on heating boilers, to be able to provide a thermal insulation casing made of hard plastic foam, the heating boiler is designed in such a manner that, between the walls (1) of the surrounding housing (2) and the adjacent walls (3) of the chamber housing (4) in the burner-side and offtake-side regions (5, 6), heat-insulating, fireproof filling pieces (7) are arranged, which are adapted in shape in relation to chamber housing and surrounding housing, and the remaining space (8) between surrounding housing (2) and chamber housing (4) is foamed with heat-insulating hard plastic foam (9). <IMAGE>
