The invention relates to a stomatoscope having a gripping part (4), a stomatoscope carrier (2) fastened on the gripping part and having a mirror body (3) inserted therein, and a light source (11). It is the object of the invention to provide a stomatoscope of the type mentioned with which it is possible to illuminate the oral treatment space in a defined manner while at the same time misting of the mirror during working in the treatment space is largely avoided. The object is achieved in that the central region (8) of the mirror body is metal-coated while the outer region (9) of the mirror body is not metal-coated, and in that the light source is located between the mirror body and the mirror carrier such that the light rays leave the space formed by the mirror carrier and the mirror body through the non-metal-coated region of the mirror body when the light source is switched on. <IMAGE>
