A heater, which consists of a pipe piece made of non-metallic metal, has a microwave source as heating element (1). The pipe piece (2) possesses connections (4, 5) with standard pipe threads. By virtue of the material of the pipe piece (2), good insulation results, and this is improved by the housing (3) and insulation (13).
