A method for the treatment and/or prophylaxis of hyperglycaemia in humans or non-human mammals, which method comprises the administration of an effective, non-toxic amount of a compound of formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, ester or amide thereof, wherein R<1> represents a C1-6 alkyl, C1-6 alkylaryl or aryl group; R<2> represents a hydrogen atom or a C1-6 alkyl group; R<3> represents a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group; and n represents an integer of from 1 to 6; and certain compounds and pharmaceutical compositions for use in such method. |
