PURPOSE:To enable the titled manufacture to obtain a thick sheet and a sheet which is superior in transparency and surface properties even in molding whose molding rate is fast, by a method wherein a cooling liquid is streamed into a slit so as not to generate stay of the cooling liquid and filmy thermoplastic resin is quenched by further cooling forcibly the cooling liquid streamed into the slit. CONSTITUTION:Filmy thermoplastic resin 1 extruded through a T die 2 is introduced into a first slit 12 of a first water tank 11 wherein a cooling liquid is streaming. In this instance, the cooling liquid is supplied smooth to the slit 12 without having stay of the cooling liquid under a turbulenceless and surgingless state. Primary cooling is applied to the resin 1 while the same is being passed through the slit 12. Simultaneously with the above the cooling liquid in the inside of the slit 12 whose temperature has been risen by absorbing heat through the resin 1 is further cooled forcibly by cooling both sides of the slit 12 with the cooling liquid flowing through a second slit 15 of a second water tank 14. With this construction, the cooling liquid flowing through the slit 12 can be kept at a low temperature always and quenching of the resin 1 is made possible by improving a cooling effect. |
