PURPOSE:To readily subject the titled compound having poor ring opening reactivity to ring opening under mild condition in a short time, by reacting a trioxabicyclooctane group-containing bicyclo compound with an acid halide in the presence of a quaternary phosphonium salt. CONSTITUTION:(A) A bicyclo compound having 2,6,7-trioxabicyclo[2.2.2]octane group, preferably a compound expressed by the formula, etc., is subjected to ring opening in the presence of (B) an acid halide compound, e.g. trichloroacetyl chloride, etc., and (C) a quaternary phosphonium salt, preferably tetraphenylphosphonium chloride, etc. The respective compounds are used in the following amounts based on the 2,6,7-trioxabicyclo[2.2.2]octane group of the compound (A); haloformyl groups of the compound (B) in an equivalent amount of 0.7-1.3 times and 0.01-5 equivalent % compound (C).
