摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized, high-performance gyro of simple structure by providing a couple of interdigital electrodes on a couple of surfaces which are parallel to the angular speed detection axis of a piezoelectric body installed on a base and perpendicular to its polarization axis. CONSTITUTION:When the left reed-screen type electrode 13a on a surface I is driven, a surface acoustic wave SAWI is led out of the right interdigital electrode 13b s a delay electrical signal, which is fed back to the left reed-screen type electrode 13a through an amplifier 15, so that oscillations are caused when the gain of the whole system is >=1. When an angular speed OMEGA inputted to an input angular speed axis Z-Z varies, the elastic constant, etc., of the piezoelectic body 12 vary with the acceleration of Coriolis force and the propagation speed V of the surface acoustic wave SAWI varies, so that the oscillation frequency varies. The constitution of respective elements and the connection of an amplifier 18 on the surface II are the same with the surface I. For the purpose, the outputs of the two amplifier 15 and 16 are supplied to a mixer 18 to detect the differential frequency between the both and this detection output is inputted to a frequency-voltage converter 20 through a low-pass filter 19, so that the angular speed OMEGA inputted to the gyro device can be detected as a voltage.
