PURPOSE:To enable heavy cut with large torque by providing a casing and a rotary tool spindle having the rotational center eccentric to that of the casing on a tool supporting means so that the casing engages the spindle through gears. CONSTITUTION:A casing 17 is fixed to a turret 2 by driving a disk brake 20 so that a rotary tool spindle 16 is rotatably driven through a transmission 23, gears 11c, 12a, 13a and 16a by a drive motor 9 to work a workpiece with a tool 15. When the disk brake 20 is released by an electromagnetic clutch 21 and the motor 9 is rotated with low speed, the rotary tool spindle 16 is rotated with low speed and the casing 17 is also rotated through said clutch 21 by the gear 12a. The rotational center CT2 of tool spindle 16 is eccentric to the rotational center CT1 of casing 17 by SF so that the center CT2, when rotated by 90 deg., is shifted by SF in the direction of arrow C. This displacement is controllably detected by a position coder 22. Thus, the diameter of the rotary tool spindle can be enlarged to enable heavy cut with large torque. |
