PURPOSE:To obtain the titled cubic hafnia single crystal having a high transformation temp. at ordinary temp. by adding a specified amt. of Y2O3 as a stabilizer when the cubic hafnia single crystal is synthesized by the FZ method. CONSTITUTION:From 10 to 20mol% Y2O3 is added as the stabilizer when the cubic hafnia single crystal is synthesized by the FZ method.
