The invention relates to a discharge-line portion (2) for a basin (4) provided with at least one supply line (9), said discharge-line portion being used for the temporary storage of liquids, in particular of washbasins, shower basins and sinks. It is the purpose of the invention to design the discharge-line portion (2) such that it is possible to recover at least part of the heat energy contained in the drainage water. This is achieved in that the discharge-line portion (2) is designed, with multiple walls, as a heat exchanger (1) with at least two line connections (12, 13) for the liquid flowing in the supply line (9).
