PURPOSE:To thoroughly recondition molding sand in a short period by subjecting the molding sand to oxidation and evaporation treatment while fluidizing the sand in a treatment vessel. CONSTITUTION:The molding sand 3 is fluidized and heated in this state when air or the like is introduced from an air feed part 2 into a treatment vessel body 1 and is further introduced from a perforated bed 5 into the treatment vessel 1. The surfaces of casting blocks 4 are immediately heated up to the temp. of the sand 3 and the surface resins are oxidized or evaporated away when the blocks 4 are thrown into the vessel 1. The blocks 4 are thus gradually collapsed to loose sand. The sand grains are gradually diminished by the repetition of the fluidization together with the surrounding sand until finally the whole part is reconditioned to the sand condition.
