PURPOSE:To uniformly charge glass raw material on the whole surfaces of melted glass incorporated in a melting furnace by providing the melting furnace, a rod, a rod driving device and a rod turning device and combining these so that the specified action is performed. CONSTITUTION:A bucket 32 is allowed to coincide with an introduction position 23 by transferring a trestle 53 in the direction B shown in an arrow along the sliding shafts 51, 52 by means of driving of a driving device 54. Then when turning a rod 56 by a prescribed angle in the direction C by driving a brake motor 58, a glass raw material 38 incorporated in the bucket 32 is introduced on the surface of melted glass because the bucket 32 is turned in the introduction position 23 in one body together with the rod 56. After the introduction of the glass raw material, the brake motor 58, the driving device 54, a brake motor 49 and a driving device 46 are driven in this order and thereby the bucket 32 is drawn out from the inside of a furnace and returned to the raw material receiving position to complete the initial raw material introduction.
