A process for sorting ores, minerals, etc. in the form of a pulp, granulate or conglomerate, especially for preparing sandy material containing gold, comprises a forward-moving, flat, profiled base (2), upon which the material is deposited and which carries the said material. While the material is transported upon the base (2), it is continuously subjected to a vibrating force which causes a pulsating movement (50) of the material essentially in the direction of movement of the base. Simultaneously, a water stream is supplied which flows normal to the direction of movement of the base, whereas the material is subjected to a gravity component acting at an angle to the direction of movement of the base and obtained by slanting or rotation of the base. After a residence time of the material on the base, the resulting concentrate is removed or discarded. An installation for carrying out the above process is also disclosed. |
