Front panelling for vehicles, especially passenger motor vehicles

In a passenger motor vehicle the front panelling is provided in its forward, lower area with an air inlet grille and a front end apron running rearwards at an inclined angle. The air inlet grille comprises an inlet grille and a deflector grille. Both extend essentially horizontally and transversely to the direction of travel of the vehicle. They are arranged in series in the direction of travel and offset in relation to one another in a vertical direction. The deflector grille is of a thicker profile than the inlet grille, the longitudinal sides of the two grilles facing one another in the direction of travel being aligned approximately parallel to one another. Due to the division of the air inlet grille into the inlet grille and the deflector grille, the ventilation of a cooling assembly arranged behind the air inlet grille is significantly improved.
