PURPOSE:To improve the work performance by providing the quick return mechanism onto the center of a base stand on a driving device and by connecting the air control valve of the cylinder for quick return to the timer circuit as well. CONSTITUTION:The cylinder for quick return in parallel to a rod 3 and the quick return mechanism equipping with a piston rod are provided on the driving device 2 of a dresser main body 11. Moreover, control circuits 44, 45, 46 are formed respectively between a switch 12 and switching valve 13, between a timer 17 and shifting valves 7, 41, by providing the timer 17 which starts the measurement by sensing the inlet port pressure P of the air motor. When the shifting valve 7 is inputted to (a) position, the driving device 2 is moved to the left side, the switching valve 13 is open and the dressing is performed for the set time of the timer 17. By this mechanism a precise dressing work is performed and the breakdown of the chip, dresser main body 11 is prevented. Consequently, the dressing work performance is improved.
