In a blow moulding machine for the production of hollow articles from thermoplastic, with a closing unit by means of which two hollow mould halves arranged on mould-mounting plates are movable with respect to one another in the closing and opening direction such that the closing and opening forces run in a closing plane which is perpendicular to the parting surface of the hollow mould halves, for example as in the movement plane of the fork lever (tong lever) of a tong-closing unit, and with a conveying device for moving the closing unit into the intended operating stations, free passage regions are to be provided in the plane of the parting surface, contiguous with the hollow mould halves, with an essentially vertical and horizontal extent. For this purpose, it is proposed to arrange the closing unit on the conveying device such that the closing plane of the closing unit encloses an angle alpha with respect to the conveying direction T of the conveying device and a free angle beta with respect to the vertical V.
