PURPOSE:To contrive to automatically and continuously adjust a polishing device by arranging the constitution in such a way that the lap modification of a polishing plate may be done while a polishing arm is supplying or removing a lens on a belt system before the device. CONSTITUTION:A slide shaft 3 from shifting a polishing arm 4 up and down and a slide shaft 20 for shifting a modifying arm 21 up and down are so installed as to be opposed inside a slidebase 2 for shifting a slide head main body 1 back and forth. These up-and-down shiftings are done by air cylinders 6, 23 respectively. And a polishing bath is so installed that it may be in the same position as the lens polishing holder of the polishing arm 4 when the slidebase 7 retreats to the position shown in a figure and in the same position as the polishing plate modifying holder of the modifying arm 21 when the base 7 advances. By this fundamental constitution, the polishing plate is automatically and continuously managed and lap modification is done at a specified condition at all times.
