PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body having excellent electric charge transferability and electrostatic chargeability by incorporating a prescribed amt. of hydrogen by the total carbon atom and a prescribed amt. of Si, Ge and/or Sn by the sum of the amt. thereof to be added and amt. of carbon into a carbon film of an electric charge transfer layer. CONSTITUTION:This photosensitive body is constituted of at least an electric charge generating layer 3 and the electric charge transfer layer 2 and has at least one layer of carbon contg. hydrogen (referred to as CH layer) as the charge transfer layer. The CH layer contains <=10atom% (atm%) Si, Ge and/or Sn. The hydrogen content in the CH layer is 0.1-67atom%, more perferably 1-60atm%, further preferably 30-60atm%. The excellent charge transferability and electrostatic chargeability as well as the substantial surface potential in spite of the thin film thickness are thus obtd. The injection of the charge from the charge generating layer is made easy and the decreased residual potential, improved sensitivity and decreased memory are attained. |
