PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body having excellent electric charge transferrability and electrostatic chargeability by incorporating a prescribed amt. of hydrogen by the weight of carbon into a carbon film of an electric charge transfer layer. CONSTITUTION:This photosensitive body is constituted of at least an electric charge generating layer 3 and the electric charge transfer layer 2 and has at least one layer of carbon contg. hydrogen (referred to as CH layer) as the charge transfer layer. The hydrogen content in the CH layer is 0.1-67atom% (atm%), more preferably 1-60atm%, further preferably 30-60atm%. The dark resistance suitable for electrophotography is not obtainable if the content is smaller than 0.1atm% and there is no charge transferrability if the content is larger than 67atm%. There are inorg. materials such as amorphous silicon and Se film and org. materials such as bisazo pigment as the charge generating layer. The excellent charge transferrability and electrostatic chargeability as well as the substantial surface potential in spite of the thin film thickness are thus obtd. and the good image quality is obtd. |
