PURPOSE:The titled composition useful as a coating compound, etc., readily synthesized, having improved shelf stability, curing properties, performance of film of coating, etc., obtained by neutralizing a reaction product of a specific oxirane group-containing resin and a specific acrylic copolymer in a specified ratio and dissolving the neutralized reaction product in an aqueous medium. CONSTITUTION:(A) An oxirane group-containing resin obtained by modifying (i) an oxirane group-containing copolymer (e.g., glycidyl methacrylate-styrene copolymer, etc.,) with (ii) a (semi-)drying oil fatty acid (e.g., tung oil fatty acid, etc.,) is reacted with (B) (semi-)drying oil fatty acid modified acrylic copolymer (e.g., copolymer of a monomer obtained by esterifying safflower oil fatty acid and glycidyl methacrylate, acrylic acid and styrene) having 10-200 acid value in a weight ratio of solid content of the component A:B of 90/10-5/95, neutralized and dissolved or suspended in an aqueous medium to give the aimed composition.
