A method as well as a device, working according to this method, for dismantling, assembling and inspecting the rotary connections of cranes, in particular the roller rotary connections of offshore cranes, are proposed, structural parts specific to the crane being used as receiving parts for the rotary connection and the latter being lowered to the ground for maintenance purposes by means of a lifting element likewise specific to the crane.
