Flux for submerged arc welding, characterised in that it contains essentially, by weight, 1.5 to 9% of MnO, 3 to 14% of TiO2 + ZrO2 , 3 to 15% of Al2 O3 , 20 to 40% of SiO2 , 15 to 35% of CaO, 6 to 30% of MgO, 13 to 28% of CaF2 , the content of boron oxide B2 O3 being less than 0.5%, the contents of CaO and MgO satisfying the condition of the ratio % MgO/% CaO being between 0.4 and 0.9, the basicity index according to Bonizewski being between 1.2 and 1.8 and the Na2 O + K2 O percentage by weight being less than 1.</p> |
