<p>The process consists of treating wide steel strip with compsn. 0.07-0.45 wt.% C, 0.1-0.5% Si, 0.3-1.5% Mn, leaving the last roll at 1150-900 deg.C, by tempering in a countercurrent flow of coolant. - Ratio of flow rate to length of coolant is below 65; duration of tempering (t secs.) and thickness (d mm) at the outlet of the last roll are related by t/d = 0.02-0.18.</p> |
