PURPOSE:To copy to the copying paper of the same size by controlling a rotating means and a magnification varying means according to the output signal of a detecting means. CONSTITUTION:When a person who performs retrieval presses a copy button so as to copy a desired image, a line sensor 30 moves on the desired image frame in parallel to a film surface. At this time, the peripheral part of a microfilm F other than image frames is a film dark part, where light is not transmitted; and only light transmitted through the image frames illuminates the line sensor 30, so that the size and longitudinal/lateral direction of the image frame are detected from the range in which the line sensor 30 detects the light. Namely, the length of the breadthwise side of the image frame is detected from the lengthwise width of the line sensor 30, and the length of the film-directional side is detected from the time that the line sensor 30 requires to move on the film surface in parallel, thereby deciding the size and longitudinal/lateral direction of the image frame. |
