PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution and to reduce the cost by providing a photodetecting element such as linearly arrayed solar cells, the slits of a liquid- crystal shutter to determine the photodetecting area, a driver, a shift register, and a synchronizing device to motivate the shift register. CONSTITUTION:The transparent part 4 of the slit 2 is stopped at a position A, and the outputs of the photodetecting elements 1a-1n are sequentially read out by the shift register 5. After reading the outputs of up to the element 1n, the part 4 is moved to a position B, and the elements 1a-1n are sequentially read again. In similar manner, the part 4 is consecutively scanned by the driver 3. When said reading reaches the right end of the elements 1a-1n, one picture is completed, and thereafter the part 4 is returned to the place A to set to the second picture.
