PURPOSE:To prevent heat conduction from an enclosed case and compression element to a refrigerant gas in a suction pipe and improve volumetric efficiency by inserting a pipe type heat insulating material into said suction pipe in a position in which said suction pipe is fixed to said enclosed case and said compression element. CONSTITUTION:A low temp. and low pressure refrigerant gas which has returned form a refrigeration cycle flows into the compression chamber 17 of a compression element 14 through a suction pipe 16. The refrigerant gas which became high temp. and high pressure due to the compression element 14, is discharged into the space inside the enclosed case 11 and, then, sent out to the refrigeration cycle through a discharge pipe 18. A heat insulating material 19 is inserted into the suction pipe 16 in a position in which the suction pipe 16 is fixed to the enclosed case 11 and the compression element 14. thereby, the refrigerant gas in the suction pipe 16 is insulated from the enclosing case 11, compression element 14, and suction pipe 16 by means of the heat insulating material 19. As a result, the suction heating for the refrigerant gas can be reduced and increase in specific volume of the refrigerant flowing into the compression chamber 17 can be prevented, improving volumetric efficiency.
