<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of performance of cooling tubes, caused by the blockade of them effected by foreign material, and the pollution of nature by a method wherein a foreign material removing device is provided at the entrance of a heat exchanger to take the foreign material out, introduce it into a foreign material retrieving device together with water accompanied by it to separate the foreign material from the water and the water is discharged through a water discharging pipe while the foreign material is disposed as industrial wastes. CONSTITUTION:Cooling water (sea water) passes through a screen 1, and the pressure thereof is increased by a cooling water circulating pump 2, thereafter, it passes through a water introducing pipe 3 and flows into a foreign material removing device 4. The foreign material is separated here and flows out of a system through the inlet port water chamber 6 of a multi-tube type heat exchanger 9, a cooling pipe 7, an outlet port water chamber 8 and an outlet pipe 10. When the separated foreign material 20 flows into a foreign material retrieving device 13 together with water accompanied by it, the foreign material 20 is separated from the water, then, the pressure of the water is increased by a pressure increasing pump 15 and the water joins with cooling water again through a pipeline 16. Accordingly, th blockade of cooling pipes for the heat exchanger, which is caused by the foreign material, may be reduced and nature pollution due to discharging the cooling water may be eliminated. The foreign material 20, thus retrieved, is disposed properly as industrial wastes.</p> |
