PURPOSE:To make manual running performable with more than two shift steps, by making the running prohibited of gear shifting possible in case of at least two shift steps to be selected by a manual switching device at the same shift range. CONSTITUTION:When a signal out of a shift sensor 46 is an L range and a manual selector switch 54 is in an A pattern, a two-speed fixed pattern set is carried out and when a B pattern is the case, one-speed fixed pattern set takes place, respectively. On the other hand, when it is an S range and the A pattern, a four-speed fixed pattern set takes place, and when the B pattern is the case, a three-speed pattern set as well as when a C pattern is the case, such a pattern set that is allowed between both first and third speed steps takes place, respectively. Furthermore, at a reverse range, the one or two-speed fixed pattern of reverse is set according to a position of the selector switch 54. And, when a D range is the case, a pattern set for a D range is carried out and in addition the pattern set of a lockup clutch takes place. Thus, a shift step capable of fixed running is easily increasble without increasing the number of shift ranges. |
