In the method of tomography wherein a selected layer of the body is recorded by oscillating the radiation source e.g. X-ray tube and image recording means coupled to said source and positioned on the opposite side of the body under scribing about an axis intersecting with and perpendicular to the body layer being recorded, the angle of spread of the radiation beam is controlled by a diaphragm in accordance with the angle turned through at any given instant by the source and recording means, the angle being measured from a known rest position. The diaphragm preferably also includes means for attenuating or filtering the radiation used. As a result of this beam spread, angular position relationship, the peripheral portions of the body are recorded on the developed film at the same intensity as the internal portions of the section; thus permitting the more accurate location of any areas of interest.</p> |
