PURPOSE:To contrive the improvement of the capacity and the efficiency of a compressor during cooling operation as well as the improvement of heat exchanging efficiency during heating operation and permit to increase the pressure of high-pressure side quickly upon starting operation by a method wherein a specified changeover valve is provided in the path of a pipeline and, further, a control means, which controls the fan of a heat exchanger when the pressure of the high-pressure side of the compressor has become higher than a set value, is provided. CONSTITUTION:The bypass circuit 5a of a first choking device 5, a second choking device 9, a pipeline connecting the first choking device 5 to an indoor first heat exchanger 7 and a bypass path 83 connecting the refrigerant discharging side of a compressor 1 to the refrigerant input side of an accumulator 10 in a refrigerant circuit are provided with changeover valves 55, 94, 60, 62 respectively while a changeover valve 61, switching and connecting the indoor first heat exchanger 7 and an indoor second heat exchanger 6 in series or in parallel, is provided. Further, a control means 30, which controls the fan 4 of an outdoor heat exchanger 3 as wel as the fan 8 for the indoor first and second heat exchanges 7, 6 when the pressure of the high-pressure side of the compressor 1 has become higher than a preset value, is provided.
