PURPOSE:To securely produce scanning time signals and reduce the shade of the support means resulting from the positional shift between the phosphor and the support by fixing a bar-like support to each support wall as one body and forming bar-like supports between the support walls and the face plate at given intervals. CONSTITUTION:A bar-like support means 1 is attached to each support wall 13 as one body and bar-like support means 19 with a given length are installed at given intervals. Due to the above structure, since electron beams are scanned among the bar-like support means 19, the scanning timing position for each color phosphor 2 can be detected. Shorter bar-like support means 9 are placed at given intervals in order to prevent any warping or distortion of the support means 9, thereby greatly reducing the shade on the phosphor 2 resulting from the positional shift between the support means 19 and the phosphor 2.
