PURPOSE:To suppress a current flowing to a choke coil and a switching transistor by controlling the ON-OFF action of a switching means by means of a signal to limit the amplitude of output when the DC output voltage is compared and collated with the output command voltage. CONSTITUTION:The output of a rectifier 1 is outputted through a switching transistor 3 and a choke coil 5. A DC output voltage is detected by a output voltage detection circuit 8, the output of which is not only compared and collated with the output command voltage from a voltage command circuit 7 but also inputted to a limiting circuit 10. After being limited by the limiting circuit 10 in accordance with the output of the output voltage detection circuit 8, the output of a comparison circuit 9 is inputted to a switching pulse generation circuit 11, which controls the switching transistor 3 ON and OFF on the basis of this input and the reference pulse from a reference pulse generation circuit 12.
