PURPOSE:To identify sections of display colors by changing and setting the print color of a color hard copy device in response to the picture color information on a color display device. CONSTITUTION:A print color information table 11 exclusive for a color hard copy device is provided in addition to a picture color information table 7 for a color display device. An optional type of color information is set by the table 11 in response to the designated color information on the table 7. Such a set color is used for display and print. The number of print colors of the color hard copy device is smaller than those of the color display device. Thus it is impossible to perform the print with colors as displayed. In this respect, the displacement of colors is carried out in case the division of display colors is more important than the color itself. Thus the colors of the same group which can not be discriminated are replaced with other colors which can be easily identified for display color sections. Then the print is carried out with control.
