A sheet welding device for the solvent welding of plastic sheets, for example roofing sheets, consists of a carrier part designed as a self-propelled device whose base drive-transmission forms a pressing element for the sheet seam produced continuously by a welding or distribution head (16) supplied with welding medium from a tank (7). The self-propelled device is advantageously designed in the manner of a crawler vehicle or track-laying vehicle and is driven by an engine (5). At the rear of the device, a device (8, 9, 29, 30) for sealing the welded seam may be provided. In front of the welding head (16), a hot-air distributor (33) for hot air generated by a heating fan (10) may be arranged.
