A device for inflating balloons of balloon Catheters comprises a container with distensible walls 27, for holding an inflating liquid under pressure, the container communicating with a hypodermic needle 32 through a control valve 30. The control valve may be a clip on a tube portion 26 interconnecting the container and the needle. In use, the needle pierces a plug 20 in a catheter duct 18 which communicates with the balloon 15 at the forward end of the catheter, the balloon having distensible walls of greater elasticity than the container walls 27. On releasing the clip 30, liquid flows from the container into the balloon. The device is supplied with the needle protected by a removable sheath 35. |
