<p>The effluents, esp. those from olive oil prodn., are treated by a combined process of (a) pptn. with an alkaline cpd., pref. lime, (b) oxidn., pref. with agitation, in one or several stages, and (c) treatment with acid, pref. sulphuric acid, in presence of solid decolorising agents, esp. activated carbon. The resulting water has a min. contaminant content, and can be run off within legal requirements without further treatment.</p> |
