PURPOSE:To aim at enhancing the performance of separation and extraction of paper sheets, by arranging a paper sheet deformation regulating means which abuts against paper sheets stacked in a storage section to regulate the deformation of the paper sheets, in the vicinity of a pay-out means which abuts against one side surface of the paper sheets. CONSTITUTION:A pick-up roller in a paper sheet pay-out means abuts against the longitudinal center part of paper sheets during pay-out of the latter. Guide rollers 70 as a first paper sheet push-up and deformation regulating means are arranged on an arm 71 which pivots about the shaft 23 of a feed roller 20 as a rotating center, so that the guide rollers 70 abuts against both side parts of the paper sheets, and are intermittently driven. A guide roller 39 as a second deformation regulating means for preventing the paper sheets from being inclined forward due to a bulge effect which occurs when the pick-up roller makes into press-contact with the accumulated paper sheets, is rotatably attached to an arm 72 which pivots about the shaft of the guide roller 70 as a pivot center. Thereby it is possible to separate the paper sheets and to feed them to the feed roller 20 and a gate roller 25 while the deformation of the paper sheets is regulated.
