PURPOSE:To prevent noise on the initial stage of meshing and the wear of a meshed part by providing a restraining mechanism which removes a resistance force for preventing the movement of a shift member when an operating force for a shift member, of an accelerating driving side toward a clutch engaging side. CONSTITUTION:The shift member 18 of a front wheel transmission 10 has meshing parts 18a, 18b in the front and rear directions of shifting respectively, and the meshing parts 18a, 18b are engaged and disengaged with the meshing parts 16a, 17a of driven gears 16, 17 respectively, constituting standard driving side and accelerating driving side meshing clutches 19, 20. In this structure, a groove 28a is formed on a support shaft 28 which rotatably supports the shifter 22 of the shift member 18, ranging from a position corresponding to the neutral position N of the shifter 22 to a position corresponding to the engaging position A of the standard driving side meshing clutch 19. And, a spring 27b for energizing a metal ball 27a is installed in the groove 28a, to constitute a restraining mechanism 27. Thereby, the shifter 22 and the shift member 18 can be moved to the accelerating driving side at a stretch.
