PURPOSE:To reduce magnetic flux leaked from an erasing head by forming a head winding around a core constituting a closed magnetic circuit including a head gap and forming a short ring vertically to the circuit so that the circuit is surrounded by the short ring. CONSTITUTION:Front cores 4 whose leading ends are bent are opposed to each other through the head gap 4G and the end legs of the front cores 4 are fixed to a back core 1 to form the closed magnetic circuit. Then, the head winding 2 is wound around the leg of one core 4 and the short ring 3 surrounding the opposed cores 4 is formed. In said constitution, the sum of magnetic flux acting as erasing magnetic flux out of magnetic flux 7A, 8A flowing through the gap 4G in the loop of the ring 3 is zero in the loop, but the effect of the ring 3 is affected upon the leaked magnetic flux 6A, so that disturbance to the circuit adjacent to the head is reduced.
