The dust filter is used in a sandblasting machine and has an open filter hose (2) in a clean-air chamber (4). A sand blasting nozzle (6) is directed towards said open end and is connected via a fast-opening valve (11, 12) to a flushing-air chamber (10). To avoid air turbulences and vibrations thereby produced in the filter hoses (2), means are present which, when the valve (11, 12) opens, seal the intervening space between the nozzle (6) and the open end of the filter from the clean-air chamber (4). In order to keep the manufacturing costs low if the number of small filter hoses is low, provision is made for the means to have a telescopically constructed sand blasting nozzle (6) having a plate (25) in the vicinity of the nozzle mouth, said plate being designed to lie against the open end of the filter hose when the valve (11, 12) is opened. <IMAGE>
