PURPOSE:To carry out favorable restriction of a differential in both cases when a vehicle travels on a flat and when traveling on a slope by instantly switching a spring force which acts on a differential lever, between by means of one spring and by means of two springs, by operating a switchover mechanism. CONSTITUTION:When a vehicle travels on a slope, a larger axle torque is generated than that when traveling on a flat. In this case, a pedal 45 is depressed to operate a switchover mechanism 43, and a lever 40 is displaced to a position 41 opposite to a spring force transporting bolt 31. And, a force which is applied to a differential restricting lever 22 by an increased axle torque, is received not only by a first spring 28 but also by a second spring 36 via the spring force transmitting bolt 31, the lever 40, and a spring force adjusting bolt 34. When the vehicle makes a turn on a slope, the axle torque is further increased overcoming the total amount of the energizing forces of both the springs 28, 36. Thereupon, the differential limiting lever 22 is displaced for the first time, to make a differential device function.
