PURPOSE:To improve the light fastness and heat resistance of a thermally developed color image after fixing, by incorporating at least one specific compound in a thermal layer. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material wherein a thermal layer containing a diazonium salt and a coupler is provided on a support, said thermal layer contains at least one compound represented by general formula [I] (wherein R and R' are a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group and R1, R2, R3 and R4 are respectively a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, alkoxy group, an alkylthio group, an hydroxyl group or a halogen atom. At lest one of OR and OR' may be mutually bonded to either one of R1-R4 present at the ortho position thereof to form a 5- or 6-membered ring and at least one set of R1-R4 mutually having relation of an ortho position may be mutually bonded to form a 5- or 6-membered ring). Among compounds, one having OR' at the ortho or para position of OR is pref. from the aspect of effect. Said compound is pref. added in an amount of about 0.05-20pts.wt. of 1pt. of the diazonium salt when added in a fine particulate state. |
