PURPOSE:To improve stability of a vehicle, by resetting rear wheels to the neutral position so as to suppress a change of action of the vehicle in accordance with said resetting only when a control system, which controls steering of the rear wheels, causes a trouble further with the rear wheels in a small steering region. CONSTITUTION:The captioned device has a front wheel steering mechanism A equipped with a power steering mechanism F controlled by a steering mechanism C and a rear wheel steering mechanism B equipped with a power steering mechanism D related to said mechanism C through the front wheel steering mechanism A and a steering ratio change gear E. The steering ration change gear E has as its change driving means a stepping motor 44 controlled by a control unit 51. Here the device, when it discriminates a rear wheel steering control system to be in trouble further rear wheels to be in a small steering region, opens an opening and closing valve 47 placing both pressure oil chambers 13b, 13c of the power steering mechanism D of communicate and forcedly resetting the rear wheels 2R, 2L to the neutral position. |
