摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain an photomagnetic recording device for offsetting phase differences generated in respective surfaces without using many specific reflecting surfaces by arranging two reflecting surfaces so as to holding specific positional relation and using a mirror equal in phase difference between polarized light defined by respective surfaces. CONSTITUTION:The reflecting surfaces A 104, B 103 are total reflecting surfaces based upon the same kind of transparent prisms or metallic reflectors consisting of the same kind of metals. Laser beams 107 are made parallel beams 106, turned to linearly polarized beams by a P-polarized beam splitter PBS 105 and then converged upon an photomagnetic recording medium 101 having a groove with 1/8 wavelength height through the reflecting surfaces 104, 103. Since the polarized surface is rotated on the medium 101 at the incidence of the reflected light upon the surface B 103, the polarized light includes both P and S polarized light components, but the phase differences are offset by the surface A 104, only the P polarized light is obtained again, reflected by a PBS 108 and converged upon a sensor 111 through an analyzer 109. On the other hand, the P-polarized light is converted into a semicircular light by a knife edge 112 and converged on a 1/4 photosensor 114 through a condenser lens 113 to obtain a tracking error signal.
